Production Logo

The name for our production company came from our initials (H – Hannah, C – Charlotte and S – Sophie, who was originally in our group.) even though Sophie no longer does media, we kept the letter ‘S’ in our title because we thought that it sounded a lot better than either HC Horror or CH Horror, also we thought this name sounded right and seemed to work well. The font used for the ‘HCS’ bit is quite an old style font which we thought looked good and also went with the more modern font we used for the word ‘Horror’. The colours are quite simplistic because we didn’t want to overdo the colour and it also adds to the horror atmosphere: the black is normally associated with horror, as is red and red is also associated with blood. The white contrasts with the black and also goes well with the red.

Skills Development

Before we started our main project we did skills development on iMovie and Garageband. I already had some experience on iMovie because I've used it before but we practised editing clips and adding titles and transitions. On Garageband we learnt how to find some music we wanted to use and how to add other sounds over it and how to edit the music.

Filming Log

This is all the filming we did and it details whenever we had to re-shoot different parts.

Sun 14 Nov - We tidied up the basement so that it would be easier to do the filming and so that it looked more like a killer’s hideout.

Mon 15 Nov -
We sorted out all of our props and started to film part of the captive scene with the first victim.

Tues 16 Nov -
We uploaded all of our filming onto iMovie, but we decided that it wasn’t good enough to use.

Mon 22 Nov
- We re-shot all of the filming down in the basement, it took less time than before because this time we knew where we wanted everything to be and where are characters should be positioned on screen.

Tues 23 Nov -
We uploaded our second lot of film on to iMovie and then edited the bits we wanted to use.

Mon 6 Dec -
We started on the filming outside which was difficult because our location was next to a busy road and lots of cars and lorries kept driving past. Also the camera’s battery ran out so we had to stop filming earlier than we would have liked.

Tues 7 Dec-
We uploaded our new filming onto the computer, but it wasn’t very good.

Mon 13 Dec -
We re-shot the outside filming but, again, we didn’t get very many clips.

Tues 14 Dec -
We uploaded the filming, and it was still poor quality.

Christmas Holiday

Mon 10 Jan - We re-shot all the outside filming with a new camera and nearly finished all of the shooting.

Tues 11 Jan- This time, the clips we uploaded were a lot better.

Mon 17 Jan – We finished all of our filming.

Tues 18 Jan – We put all of our filming onto iMovie.
